Next Step Sessions

Highly personalised 1:1 learning sessions designed around the individual child.

Helping Children Reconnect with Learning

Next Step Sessions are highly personalised 1:1 learning sessions designed around the individual child. They are for children who have become disengaged from education, are struggling to attend school, are currently on a partial timetable, or need support to reconnect with learning in a way that feels manageable and meaningful to them.

Every session is tailored to the child’s interests, strengths, needs, confidence and current level of learning. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we take the time to understand what motivates each child and create learning experiences that build on their interests and successes. Sessions may focus on bridging gaps in academic learning, developing confidence and independence, exploring areas of interest, or simply rediscovering the enjoyment that learning can bring.

Taking place every Thursday from 9:30am–2:30pm, these supportive 1:1 sessions provide a calm, flexible and positive environment where children can experience success at their own pace. Our aim is to reignite a love of learning, rebuild confidence and create a personalised bridge back towards positive and sustainable engagement with education.

Accessible Support for Families

We want Next Step Sessions to be as accessible as possible for families. Payments can be made through a Tax-Free Childcare account, where eligible families can receive government support towards childcare costs. Families receiving Universal Credit may also be able to claim back up to 85% of the session costs, subject to their individual circumstances and the applicable limits. This can make personalised 1:1 support more affordable while providing children with the time, space and encouragement they need to reconnect with learning.
