SATs Support
Focused Maths and English SATs preparation to help Year 6 children build confidence and feel ready for their assessments.
Helping Year 6 Children Prepare for Their SATs
Our SATs support sessions are designed specifically for Year 6 children, providing focused and tailored teaching to help them prepare confidently for their end-of-Key Stage 2 assessments. With children taught in their own dedicated Year 6 sessions, we can focus closely on the content, skills and exam techniques required for the SATs, while also responding to individual areas of difficulty and building confidence.
Sessions are carefully split between Maths and English, ensuring that enough time is dedicated to both subjects and that children have the opportunity to develop the full range of skills they need.
Maths SATs Support
In Maths, sessions cover both arithmetic and reasoning. We work on securing essential mathematical skills and fluency, while also developing children's ability to apply their knowledge to a range of reasoning and problem-solving questions. Children will have opportunities to practise SATs-style questions, develop strategies for tackling unfamiliar problems and build confidence in showing their mathematical thinking.
English SATs Support
In English, we provide targeted support across Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (SPaG) as well as Reading. Sessions focus on strengthening children's understanding of grammar and punctuation rules, improving spelling and developing the skills needed to successfully approach the Reading paper. This includes working on comprehension, retrieving and interpreting information, understanding vocabulary and responding effectively to different question types.
Our aim is not only to prepare children for the format and demands of the SATs, but to ensure they feel confident, well-prepared and secure in their knowledge and skills. By identifying areas that need further development and providing focused practice, we help children approach their SATs with greater confidence and give them the best opportunity to demonstrate what they can achieve.
